Arrive Athens, collect car rental for self-drive trip. Drive Attica coast to Corinth Canal (80m cliffs, 6km stretch, photo spot; 1 hr). Visit ancient Mycenae (Lion Gate, Cyclopean Walls, Palace, Tomb of Agamemnon; 1 hr). Drive to Nafplio (30-40 mins) to stroll streets, visit Palamidi Fortress (999 steps/vehicle) or boat to Bourtzi Castle.

Breakfast at hotel. Self-drive to 4th-century BC Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus (acoustics; 1 hr drive from Nafplio).
