Discover Ancient Athens and Travel to Meteora

Breakfast. Explore ancient landmarks with Local Expert OR stroll Plaka with Tour Leader (shops, cafes). Travel to Thermopylae (480 B.C. King Leonidas & 300 Spartans memorial). Continue to Kalambaka/Meteora for hotel dinner (fresh seasonal local ingredients).

DAY 3

Explore Meteora’s Historic Monasteries

Breakfast. Discover UNESCO-listed Meteora (“suspended in the air”) with Local Expert: marvel at rock formations & visit a cliffside monastery for Peneios Valley views. Free afternoon: gentle nature trail walk or optional Natural History Museum visit.

DAY 4

Discover Delphi Before Continuing to Olympia

Breakfast. Drive south to Mt. Parnassus/Delphi with Local Expert: walk Sacred Way, Treasury of Athenians (Parian marble), Polygonal Wall, & Temple of Apollo (Oracle of Delphi prophecies over 14 centuries; Argonauts & Trojan War). Continue to Olympia for hotel dinner.

Ancient Olympia

Breakfast. Explore 776 B.C. birthplace of Olympic Games (Zeus): Temple of Zeus ruins, athletes’ gymnasium, arch, & Ancient Stadium (sprint track start/finish stones, photo spot). Evening local chef cooking demonstration & dinner showcasing regional Greek flavors/ingredients.

Mycenae and Nafplio

Breakfast. Explore Mycenae with Local Expert: Lion Gate, royal beehive tombs, Cyclopean walls. Drive to coastal Nafplio (shops, cafes). Meet Maria & daughter to discover traditional hand weaving art. Drive Saronic Gulf past Corinth Canal to Athens for classic Greek dinner.

Depart Athens
